Julie joined MEDVAL in 2017 and oversees business development, account management and client acquisition, as well as client onboarding, training, and education initiatives.
Prior to joining MEDVAL, Julie worked with a national medical cost containment firm where she specialized in designing programs for first-party insurers, attorneys, municipalities, and third-party administrators, that reduced costs associated with non-subscribers, workers’ compensation, liability, and group medical claims.
Julie brings over 10 years of in-depth knowledge and industry experience and has been instrumental in settling claims nationwide. With a keen understanding of Medicare Secondary Payer compliance, she is often consulted to offer insight, direction, and training to insurance carriers, self-insured entities, and third-party administrators.
Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, and Marketing from Houghton College. With her experience resolving both worker’s compensation and liability cases, Julie stands ready to assist clients in meeting their strategic goals and objectives.
Melissa Perdew CCMP, CPDM, WCCP
Melissa joined MEDVAL in 2015 as a Senior Account Manager working with clients in the Southwest Territory, providing client onboarding, training, and business development. As a seasoned account manager with 27 years of experience in workers’ compensation.
Melissa has held positions in medical management, provider relations, bill review, claims adjusting, and for the last 12 years in Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance. Working closely with our clients to add experience in claims oversight and direction while providing training to insurance carriers, self-insured entitles and third-party administrators.
Melissa holds several designations from Insurance Education Associates (IEA) which includes CCMP, WCCP and CPDM. Melissa is ready to help with any of your MSP questions and needs.
Rob joined MEDVAL in 2020 and oversees the Northwest Territory including Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska handling account management and client acquisition, as well as client onboarding, training, and educational initiatives.
Prior to joining MEDVAL, Rob spent more than 15 years in the structured settlement industry specializing in Worker’s Compensation, Personal Injury, and non-qualified cases such as wrongful termination and harassment claims. He also has several years of experience working as a financial advisor and cash manager for large national companies. Rob has held Series 6, 7, and 63 licenses and has been a member of CAAA and AWCP organizations as well as a supporter of organizations such as PARMA, VICA, CAOC, and CAJPA.
Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. With his experience in Structured Settlements and Worker’s Compensation, he stands ready to help clients tailor their Structured Settlement plans and exceed their Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance goals.
