Jessica Wingenroth is MEDVAL's managing attorney responsible for quality control of Medicare Set-Aside allocations, settlement negotiations, and annuity pricing. She joins MEDVAL after four years experience as an attorney with a Pittsburgh-based law firm. Jessica's primary practice area is focused on the Medicare Secondary Payer Act and Medicare's requirements in workers' compensation and liability settlements. She has spoken on the subject matter at a variety of conferences nationwide and she has handled many accounts for local, national, and international companies in the insurance industry.

Jessica holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

LOUIS C. JORDAN
Production Manager

Louis Jordan is MEDVAL's production manager and oversees client service for all of the Medicare Set-Aside allocations prepared by the firm. He joins the firm with seven years of project management experience in software development and globalization. His prior work experience includes software product development for major national and international corporations, coordinating dozens of international companies on global projects.

Louis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Loyola College in Maryland.

Stephanie Blei is MEDVAL's staff attorney responsible for quality control of Medicare Set-Aside allocations, settlement negotiations, and annuity pricing. She joins MEDVAL after working as an attorney with a Pittsburgh-based law firm in addition to her previous work as both a bankruptcy and judicial law clerk. Stephanie's primary practice area focuses on Medicare laws and policy including the Medicare Secondary Payer Act, the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007, and liability, workers' compensation, and no-fault settlement issues. .

Prior to becoming an attorney, Stephanie taught as an adjunct professor in Sociology and English at Youngstown State University. She has since provided pro bono services to Pittsburgh Mercy Health System and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Stephanie holds Bachelors of Arts degrees in Sociology and Anthropology and a Master of Arts degree in English from Youngstown State University. She received her Juris Doctor from Duquesne University and is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.

Joann Jessop is one of MEDVAL's senior nurse case managers and prepares Medicare Set-Aside allocations for complex cases. She joins the firm with twenty-three years of nursing experience which includes Emergency Room, progressive care, neurosurgery, home care, angiography, and utilization review. She has been certified as a nurse life care planner for six years and has experience developing life care plans and  medical cost projections for catastrophically injured individuals. Additionally, she has received further certification in Medicare Set-Aside allocations.

Joann is a member of The American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, for which she served as president of her local chapter, and The American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners.

Joann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Armstrong State University.

Susan Englehart is one of MEDVAL's senior clinical consultants and prepares Medicare Set-Aside allocations. Susan joins MEDVAL with fourteen years experience in the practice of medicine with a specialty and board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her practice areas include musculoskeletal medicine, workers' compensation injuries, pain management, and inpatient rehabilitation. Additionally, Susan's clinical practice experience includes evaluation and treatment of work injuries in several states.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Science from the College of William and Mary and a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia. She completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Michigan and is licensed to practice in the State of Kansas.

Paula Gargan joins MEDVAL as a nurse case manager and prepares Medicare Set-Aside allocations.  She joins the firm with 16 years of experience in clinical nursing including specialties in diabetes at the Georgetown Hospital Inpatient Diabetes Center, home care, and ophthalmology. Paula then worked for LifeScan, a Johnson & Johnson company, where she was a regional sales manager overseeing sales and marketing efforts targeted to nurse educators, physicians, hospitals, and pharmacies in the Capital Region.

Paula holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University.

Sheryl Freeman joins MEDVAL as a nurse case manager and prepares Medicare Set-Aside allocations. She joins the firm with over twenty years of diverse experience in Utilization review, Case management, Disease management, Telephonic triage, Psychiatric and Medical/Surgical nursing. She has experience in the workers’ compensation, health, and automobile insurance industries.  She holds a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Certification (CRRN).

Sheryl is a member of the Case Management Society of America. She has recently had articles published on the Diabetes Health website, as well as having an article referenced to on the Diabetes Law website.

Sheryl is a registered nurse and currently completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Phoenix.
